Which combination is going to be top 2 and who will beat who. We are proud to be able to play a track from one of Australias leading blues vocalists Lil' Fi who you can find at www.lilfi.com and www.myspace.com/thelilfi Only a few shows left, be sure to listen in along with the contestants to keep up with all things Idol, proudly hosted by Kram and Ganesha. 28min, 13mb Direct download: idolsparksep21.mp3 Category: Idol Sparks (Australian Idol 2006) -- posted at: 6:43 PM Comments[2] |
Tue, 24 October 2006 Wow, we are down to one hand now, something that Dean would know all about. Mixed feelings at the Idol Sparks purse making factory. We are happy that Lisa is happy, good luck to you Lisa. A fairly low standard on Sunday night. Kram fell asleep and Ganesha wanted to cleanse his ears with some Beach Boys to wash away some awful performances from his brain. Why are all the original voices now voted out. Is there anything that special left to look forward to. All these questions and some that were never asked in the first place will be answered on this episode of the Podcast on too many growth hormones - Idol Sparks. Fri, 20 October 2006 ![]() We aim to focus on the quality of the songwriting in this episode. There were some surprising outcomes to this show. For some of them, if that is their best song, they will be in trouble. How is it that a singer wanting to make a professional career has not even co-written and original song? Chris gets our vote for best song of the night. We play some great local talent rather than talk about those who couldnt be bothered to cultivate the basics of their career. Mon, 16 October 2006 On this episode of our highly successful Podcast series. Thanks to all who voted for our rap off with MC AnzaK, our song is surely going to be a hit in the USA. Results in, who will be voted off. A strangely varied fan base forget to keep Bobby in. Ganesha wails like a banshee and actually dies during the show. Kram reluctantly revives him. Despite the format of the show being locked down from the beginning somehow the contestants asked for instruments this week. Kram and Ganesha wonder why we should not simply go straight to the final so Dean can cartwheel onto the stage victorious, thats as long as his manager tell him thats ok. Damien blows Ganesha away but only gives Kram wind tunnel hair. The guitar is apparently the only instrument in the world. 30min, 15mb Direct download: idolsparksep18.mp3 Category: Idol Sparks (Australian Idol 2006) -- posted at: 11:03 PM Comments[2] |

Idol Sparks has gone commercial. To cover our huge production costs we have carefully chosen some reputable companies to advertise on our Podcast. I think we got confused though. A new format starting this week. Its punchier, zappier and meets over half your daily calcium requirements. We have launched a new poll to rank the contestants. You will have a chance to contribute to this. Once Sunday nights show is over, send us your favourite to least favourite performances (not your overall favourite contestant) for THAT week only. This is not a popularity poll so be honest! Once we get all the results we will collate them to determine the final ranking. Then on our next Podcast we will see how close we got to choosing the bottom three. Send your list next Sunday to idolsparks@gmail.com Recommendations It would be a crime if you have not taken time to listen to these rock bands. Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Who, You am I, Kiss, Hendrix, Van Halen, The Easybeats, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, ACDC, Grand Funk Railroad. Tue, 5 September 2006 ![]() Welcome to our Wildcard episode where we discuss the triumphs and the cringe worthy humiliation dished out to the poor unsuspecting contestants. We finally have the Top 12. Bring it on. Klancy of the overdone captures the heart of Kram who is the bread to her homemade jam. The judges have incurred the wroth of Ganesha over the loss of Amanda. Do NOT make Ganesha angry. We mock the Murphy gang and the whatever factor of mweh Mutto. Once again Kram is obsessing over Meercats. The other cat Ricky Muscat claws his way to the Top 12. We wonder what happened to Nathanial. Why did centipede boy Joseph get through over him? Chinese Opera, Kram? Our respects to the Irwin family. Ganesha places his half empty glass down and gives one thumb up to the voting public. Brendon 'the boner' is up against some stiff competition. Wed, 30 August 2006 Ok Ganesha, calm down, have a cup of herbal tea. Big post - It is the morning after and we are still in awe of how the left of centre singers are kicking the same old singers arses. GO BOBBY and thanks Australia for getting it HALF right. How is this happening? I have four singers I love this year. That has NEVER happened before. So lets have Kram give us the run down of last night, because frankly I couldnt care less about any of them except Lisa. I will talk about her at the bottom. Rachael - drunken karaoke. She is NOT a 60's singer, those comparisons are just on the surface. She is a modern voice, an Australian voice that you can draw more comparisons to the Bushwackers (old colonial folk music) than Joni Mitchell. I have always found Higgins accent a little contrived and forced, whereas Lisa does it so naturally. I have never seen someone on this show more comfortable and naturally gifted. watch lisa's audition (courtesy of youtube) LOTS more talk about how these gifted songwriters are possible taking over the show. Tue, 29 August 2006 THE GIRLS Reigan and Jessica are through as expected. Jessica, you better do some serious thinking. Stop being an imitator. We will be holding daily prayers for Amanda to get the Wildcard. THE BOYS Ricky - Nice job. He has a great raspy tone to his voice. I liked this performance. Didnt know the song but i was humming the melody during the break which says something about his performance. He should go through. James - Awful, just awful. I think he probably gave some kids nightmares. He looked like he was going to go the cameraman with an ice pick any second. No musicality, his screamed his way through an awkward agressive performance. Go away. Chris G - Like Atlanta he has an attitude problem. He should pay attention to what Mark has to say. Its the only constructive criticism he will get. He was all over the place. Sloppy. Bobby - After his performance all i wanted to do was record a Podcast entirely on this guy. I have calmed down a bit since. He was great television, a great voice, a snappy dresser and an obvious lover of good music, unlike many of the contestants who have appeared on this show. Such a unique thoughtful performer. I would love him to be voted in because i dont trust these judges to put him in as a Wildcard. Best of the night. Joseph - Ganesha Snr believes that he will go through. If he does it will be because he is cute, because that was one of the worst performances i have ever seen on this or any other show. He needs more live experience. Guy - Ummmm, oh i dont know. He was good. Perhaps a bit polished and scripted for my liking. I just dont know about this guy yet. Who will go through - Ricky and Joseph Who should go through - Ricky and Bobby Quote of the week - TQ from Inside Idol sent me a message last night after Kyle once again humiliated himself with his comments on Under The Milky Way - the message was this - "Kyle is a complete fuc#wit". Also Bazza recommends you all go compare the Punk Rocker song with Rock and Roll (you gave me the best years of my life). Plagarism? Category: general -- posted at: 7:19 PM Comments[1] |
Mon, 28 August 2006 Thank god they had the thought to combine the results and the performances. Having to sit through a whole long drawn out results show is annoying. THE BOYS We were very happy to see that the adult vote is going to have an impact this season. Damien being chosen was the best indication of this. You were spot on Kram. On the flipside lets not forget the all powerful young female vote. Dean Bon Jovi was the second male to go through, proving that talent is not the only thing people vote for. We predict Nathaniel and Chris M will be chosen for wildcard. THE GIRLS Lyndelle was OK, nothing to write home about. Atlanta - Yes she is a very good singer, professional and reliable. However she needs an attitude adjustment. She is clearly singing from behind layers of repression, her eyes show a blankness that comes from years of shutting people out. She may be suffering inside however a great artist lets it out at risk to their well being. I hope she gets to read this. Its time to break down the wall Atlanta. Go listen to Tear For Fears - The Hurting and The The - Infected. Jessica - Yes she can sing, outstanding voice actually. However she does not have the depth of character yet to really warrant keeping her. She is too young in the heart if that makes sense. Come back in two years. Klancie - All the girls can learn a lot from her performance. She was open to the moment, showed herself to be a deep and emotional person. Her vocals were sometimes a little off however on a whole she should be going through perhaps as a Wildcard. Amanda - I have liked her from the start. Smart, sexy, great raspy voice, lots of fun. Balance this with her being a Mum and a dedicated dance teacher. She will do wonders for this show. Akin to what Lee Harding did last year, except with talent. She MUST move through. Reigan - Yes it was an awful arrangement, i blame the drummer. This song is a beat driven song. This girl is a real find, she seems to be able to cover all facets of this show. Beautiful yet a bit daggy, she can sing classical, folk and r&b with ease. I see her in the top three if she keeps this up. The only thing she needs to be mindful of is that there is a career after this show and she needs to ensure that she makes it clear to the retarded record companies out there what her audience is going to be. The people get confused with singers who can cross genres. Eva Cassidy couldnt get a decent record deal...... need i say more! We will post more comments for Tonight and Wednesdays shows and be back in full force for Thurday night. Followed by Sunday night. Thu, 24 August 2006 ![]() Idol Sparks gets a major scoop by scoring an interview with gorgeous Jorge. Then Ganesha cant even be bothered to show up on time to ask questions. We finally see a change to the show, but is it an improvement? Monday nights show didnt know whether it was Australian Idol or Days Of Our Lives. Unless you sing R&B or Aussie Rock you dont have a chance on this show. Leaving out Johnson Jay was a HUGE mistake. Feedback at idolsparks@gmail.com Comments[2] |
Sun, 20 August 2006 ![]() Tonight saw the judges trim some fat off the edges after choosing too many crap singers, they cut the number down to only 100 crap singers instead. Perhaps their eyes were bigger than their ears! We revel in the Karmic retribution of Jorge Bek as Ganesha does a brilliant impersonation, worthy of an Oscar. Ummm, where's the format change guys? Kram swears, then refers to John Foreman as the Anti-Kyle, then fly's in the face of copyright. No we wont tell you what! Who stood out tonight? It's a short list.
